Biography

Dr. Mariya Gugel is a native of Brooklyn, New York. Dr. Gugel graduated Cum Laude from Auburn University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2016 and is currently completing a laboratory animal medicine residency program at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, Weill Cornell Medical College, and the Rockefeller University. She received her undergraduate degree in Animal Science from Cornell University in 2012. Dr. Gugel works with a variety of species including mice, rodents, guinea pigs, hamsters, ferrets, pigs, rabbits, and nonhuman primates. Though she spends most of her time in the research setting, Dr. Gugel also has extensive experience in small animal general practice and spends her spare time with her Golden Retriever-Corgi mix, Vinny.

What happens if a dog takes a pill that has desloratadine? (it didn’t happen, just curious! also the pills are 5mg)

my dogs have small red dots on their belly area and around their eyes. I'm not sure if it's fleas or an allergic reaction?

Dogs with fleas and/or skin allergies are more prone to skin infections due to the chronic damage to the skin. My dog is panting and shaking excessively. I don’t know if that is normal or if it indicates an illness.
