JoAnna Pendergrass, DVM is passionate about using her veterinary expertise and training to educate pet owners about veterinary medicine. After graduating from veterinary school, Dr. Pendergrass completed a two-year research fellowship, during which she discovered that she could combine her love of writing and science into a medical writing career. As a freelance medical writer, she loves to write about topics that will help pet owners make good health decisions for their pets. In addition to educating pet owners, Dr. Pendergrass also writes for veterinary professionals and veterinary students. Dr. Pendergrass is active in the American Medical Writers Association, currently serving as president of her local AMWA chapter.
