New kitten- had for one month just got diagnosed with Giardia. My one year old cat now has it too. Both put on Panacur today by vet for next 5 days. I have been going crazy washing my bedding, kitty beds and everything they touch and lay on. I'm afraid to clean the litter box. I'm afraid to touch them and love them up. I'm afraid I'm going to get it. How often should I scoop and clean box? Do I need to give them baths? My vet just said to wash my hands good after contact with box & I'll be fine.

Thank you for contacting PetCoach with your question about Sunday. Your vet is right, good hygiene is key. When you clean the litter box, wear gloves, then throw the gloves away and wash your hands. I would scoop the box at least once a day, and clean it once a week. You can touch and love them. Again, wash your hands afterwards. I hope this helps!
