My 7 year old black lab is pregnant and is starting to go into labor. She’s having contractions and she keeps pushing inside and then she wants to go outside and she pushes. I can feel the pups head, but it’s still inside of her. She’s been doing this for about 30-45 minutes. Is this normal?

Thank you for contacting PetCoach with your question about Sayde. This doesn't sound normal at this point in time. She's been pushing for too long without a puppy being born, and she may be suffering from dystocia (trouble giving birth). The puppy may be stuck in the birth canal. This is a medical emergency, as the puppy will die if it's not born soon. Please take her into a vet immediately. Best of luck.
