I found out that our local animal shelter neuters and spays pets. My cat McDougall has never been neutered and he is in his mid teens. If I have him operated on at the shelter can I be reasonably sure he won't go into shock or harmed in any way if I have him neuted there?

Thank you for contacting Petcoach with your question about McDougall. Neutering a cat is a quick and safe procedure. Shelter vets are extremely experienced in neutering cats, as they will do it on a daily basis. It is very rare for there to be problems. He should be just fine getting it done at the shelter. I hope this helps!
