I tried to take my car for a walk yesterday. He got scared and tried to break free from the harness by throwing himself around. He won’t let me touch his paws but when he was stretching i noticed the tips of his nails were broken off. He also has a scratch on his nose. Do i need to take him in to be checked?

As long he's not lame and his nails aren't bleeding, and the scratch is healing, it should be fine, as long as he is acting normally, eating and drinking and doing all his usual things. If he becomes lethargic, loses his appetite, or has any abnormal behaviors, it would be a good idea to get him seen by your vet.
