Looking for 3rd opinion: My 17 y/o cat was diagnosed with stage 2 kidney disease. Vet said she shouldn't get any treats while on the new Hill's k/d diet. This seemed extreme, so I called my pet insurance vet line for a 2nd opinion. The nurse there said it should be OK to give my cat treats occasionally. For context, we give her small pieces of meat or let her lick a yogurt container 2-3 times a week. I'm reluctant to take away her joys at her age but don't want to jeopardize her health. TIA!

Hello. Honestly, I hate to see you deprive Bebe of her occasional treat. I just can not see the problem with what you want to give her as long as the majority of what she eats is the Hill's K/D. Thanks for contacting PetCoach.
