I’ve noticed this odd growth on my dog recently near his tail and butt, I was wondering if by the attached pictures you can maybe guess what it is and what kind of treatment to expect because of it. Thank you.

Hi and thanks for your request regarding Bear. Unfortunately it is difficult to give you a precise answer about this lump as a sample of it should be ideally taken to be able to diagnose it properly. Your vet may want to perform an FNA (fine needle aspiration) or a biopsy to sample the bump and determine its underlying nature. Differentials include tumors and depending on the underlying nature of the lump the treatment may be different, even surgical with complete removal.
