I recently adopted a dog and she was spayed a couple days before I got her. So she was spayed approximately two weeks ago. Her incision had been looking good, like it was healing normally, but then recently it's been a little puffy and red. Is this normal at? Or is it something I should get checked out?

Hi and thanks for your request regarding Zuri's incision area. The wound, as you said, seems healed completely but there may be a mild skin reaction to the underlying stitches (which are still reabsorbing). I would recommend to monitor it at this stage; probably the small blisters will break and release a small amount of fluid, which may be even haemorrhagic. Keep the area cleaned with some salt water (1 tbl spoon of salt in 1 pint of water) and discourage any licking.
