My puppy got dewormed last May 28 and is still releasing live tapeworms in his stool. He just pooped a few minutes ago and there was a long trail of tapeworm stuck to his butt and inside his butt so we pulled it out but he was in pain. What should we be doing?

Many dewormers don't cover tapeworms, so you may need to use a different product to treat these effectively - you need a dewormer that contains praziquantel, and is specifically labeled for the treatment of tapeworms. You can ask your veterinarian to prescribe an appropriate dewormer for you, or you may be able to find a suitable product over the counter where you live.
