Romeo was admitted for bloody diarrhea on Monday. He had diarrhea Fri Sat Sun but been to vet during this time. He was placed on Metronidazole and IV fluids. He seems better somewhat. He is still on Metronidazole by mouth. Can it cause a dog not to poop much or is that common after diarrhea? Can it cause nausea as well?

I'm sorry Romeo has been so sick lately, but I'm glad he went to see the vet. It is normal to see a period of no pooping after a dog has had diarrhea. It can take a few days for normal stool to form and work its way through the intestines. As long as he is eating, drinking, and otherwise acting normally, I would not worry about that. Nausea is a side effect of Metronidazole. I hope this helps!
