My 3 month shih tzu was diagnosed with Enteric Protozoa on 22nd Nov and has been dewormed 2 since then. We have also put him on medication, but after the first round of medicines were over, he went back to having an upset stomach. It’s been 20 days and his second round of medicines are also over and the bacteria is still there. What should I know about the bacteria? What should my next steps be? Should I give him an injection? What am I missing out? What do I do to get rid of the bacteria?

An exact diagnosis is required in order to treat effectively, protozoa are parasites and some can survive in the environment for quite some time. Successful treatment must be used alongside disinfection of all toilet areas and bedding. Probiotic supplements and specialist diets can help recovery
