I’ve never dealt with spay before and I just adopted a dog from a shelter, she was spayed on the 19th, so 4 days ago. It’s red but not hot or oozing anything. She does have a kind of big hard swollen lump on one side of the incision that is worrying me. Does this look normal?

Hello. The incision does look red & irritated, but I think this might just be a suture reaction rather than an infection. It should get better over the next few days, but if you are concerned, you might see when the veterinarian who did the surgery will be back at the shelter & let her take a look. Thanks for adopting & thanks for using PetCoach.
