My cat is due for a dental cleaning but the banfield email states that she needs to undergo anesthesia for the cleaning. Can she have the cleaning done while she was awake? Is there another option because she is the type to stay clam and still.

A complete oral exam and dental cleaning needs to be performed under general anesthesia in dogs and cats - this way the ultrasonic scaler used to remove plaque and tartar can get underneath the gum line and dental radiographs can be performed.
