Good Morning. I hope today finds you well. I have seen You give good advice re xylitol and have a question I need help with please, if you don't mind. My mix breed rescue dog Phoebe got a hold of a chocolate wrapper (foil) that was used to wrap a chocolate containing xylitol. The wrapper was empty and the xylitol was listed as the 8th ingredient. Phoebe weighs approximately 40pounds. She did not ingest much of the actual wrapper. Thanking you profusely in advance. Have a great day.

I can understand being worried. Xylitol is highly toxic to dogs. The xylitol itself would be in the chocolate and if the wrapper was empty, then she wouldn’t have ingested any xylitol. She will likely be fine. If she was to get sick, you’d see signs of toxicity within 15-30 minutes of ingestion.
