It's not silly at all. Submit a stool sample to your veterinarian to diagnose intestinal parasites or bacterial overgrowth. If he is getting any milk at all, discontinue it and feed only a good quality canned kitten food. Consider a veterinary probiotic to promote gut health. Brands include FortiFlora, ProStora, ProViable or Bene-Bac.
