Hi there! We have chosen a puppy from a breeder that we trust and she disclosed to us shortly after our pup opened her eyes that she has an iris coloboma in her left eye. Everything I am reading says that it should be a minor issue for her but I would just like an expert opinion on the matter. I do have photos of her at 5 weeks old. She is not double merle. Her mother is a black tri and her father is a blue merle, just in case you were wondering. If we need to manage her symptoms with dogg

She may be sensitive to bright light since the iris will likely not be able to respond normally by constricting. There is no treatment or cure for the condition and vision is typically only minimally affected. Since it is a genetic condition, she should not be used for breeding when she is older.
