My shih tzu has lost all his bottom front teeth. It seems to have happened quite quickly. He is happy and eats well, always wants food. He’s had some skin issues too, itching, infections, ear itching - he’s being treated for skin and ear but I’m worried about the tooth loss. Don’t know if there’s a connection? He has never taken to teeth cleaning and had a dental over a year ago. Someone told me tooth loss was normal in shih tzus but now I’m hearing this is not the case and I’m worried sick

A connection between skin problems and the teeth loss is very unlikely. This loss could be due to periodontal disease or presence of tartar or gingivitis. A check up is needed to confirm this clinical suspicion.
