My cat is 15 years old. Since moving to a new smaller place 1 month ago she has been losing weight. She has also starting showing signs of not wanting to jump in my lap. Food, water, and litter box are all normal. There is a small dog involved in the new place, but they seem to be ok with each other. Occasional hiss or two. Is it the trauma of moving and new situation.

An older cat this is still eating well but losing weight often has thyroid disease (hyperthyroidism). I suspect that is the most likely reason. This can be easily tested with simple blood work. I suggest you take her to your vet for an exam.
