My rabbit has a localized ringworm lesion on her chin and right side of her mouth. She was diagnosed by her vet last week. She has started on Lamisil and betadine applied once daily since three days ago. She scratches the lesion often. I'm worried that it may spread. What can I do to prevent it from spreading to other areas ? Please help. How long will it be contagious for?

Thanks for reaching out about Anfoosah and including a photo. Fungal infections can be contagious for several weeks. Keeping the environmental area clean. Oral systemic anti-fungal medications such as Griseofulvin might help also, inquire through your veterinarian. Keep separated from other animals to lessen the chance of cross contamination. Good luck.
