Hi we have a 8 year old cat eats alot and is skinny and has recently started loosing fur, a few years ago had feline leukimea is there anything at home we can do for him he recently fleaed but dont want to worm him because we got told we poisoned him last time he was poorly the rspca have seen him and are not concerned but mentioned somthing about thyroid thankyou michelle

Thank you for submitting your question regarding Jasper. I agree with the concerns for a thyroid disorder. I do recommend that he sees a veterinarian. Blood work and urine testing will likely be needed to reach a diagnosis. Hyperthyroidism and diabetes can both cause an increased appetite with weight loss. Unfortunately, there is not a good recommendation for at home care. I hope this information helps!
