My pug had a vestibular disease-like episode for the first time. Took her to our vet and they found a back molar tooth heavily decayed to point they just pulled on it slightly and it fell out. My vet indicated there would bes no connection between the tooth issue and the vertibular episode. My intuition is telling me otherwise. So my question is for a second option. Can dental issues like periodontal disease impact a pug's vestibular nerve?

Dental disease should not affect the vestibular nerve - it originates in the brain and travels through the skull to the inner ear. Vestibular disease can be caused by brain lesions, ear infections or other ear disease, or sometimes irritation of the nerve itself.
