When I adopted my cat, her fur was very very soft. Now it’s not very soft, did I do anything wrong?

That's hard to say. It could be nutrition related. Try adding in an omega 3 fatty acids for cats and change the food to Royal Canin, if this does not help after a month, have your cat examined by the veterinarian for thyroid disease and oil gland issues. I hope this helps.
