Hi so we just adopted our new family member Dennis from my friend. And she said that she thinks this is from allergies; which is he is allergic to grain. So we have him on no grain food. But he has a lot of sores on his back end by his butt. Could you give me some advise what it could be or what I could do?

Grain allergies are actually very rare in cats. The most common type of allergies in dogs are environmental allergies. In cats who do have allergies, only 10% of them have food allergies and the majority of those are protein allergies. It's a myth that grain allergies are common. That's why Dennis still has sores even though he's on a grain free food. You need to have him seen by a vet to have this diagnosed and treated. Please take him into the vet in the morning. Best of luck.
