Joy Fuhrman, DVM, MBA, CPA

Biography

Originally from South Africa, Dr. Fuhrman is a graduate of Colorado State University’s combined MBA/DVM program. Her veterinary experience includes small animal general and emergency practice, small and large animal anesthesia and pain management, and small animal dentistry. She also has experience working with exotic pets, including birds and reptiles, as well as zoo animals and wildlife. Dr. Fuhrman serves on the Executive Board for the Colorado Veterinary Medical Association and is the Co-Facilitator for their Power of Ten Leadership Academy. Dr. Fuhrman states: "I love that veterinary medicine has allowed me to participate in so many exciting opportunities and experiences. From saving the lives of dogs and cats in a busy small animal emergency practice to teaching veterinary students how to anesthetize small and large animals, to performing surgery on wild African elephants. I have a great passion for animals and for the people who love them. I am deeply connected to the veterinary profession and want to ensure that all pet owners have access to outstanding veterinary care and expertise."
