Stuck shed vs fungal infection on my dragon's tail?

It looks like a stuck shed. A fungal infection will present differently (raised, irritated, black patches, lethargy, loss of appetite, etc). Try soaking in a warm water bath. You can add Betadine solution until the bath looks like weak tea. This can help prevent or treat mild infection due to a hard shed. See your veterinarian or an experienced herp veterinarian if Anastasia becomes lethargic, loses her appetite or if the tail begins to get strangulated by the shed.

Does my leopard gecko look healthy? Also u vets are really helping. Thank u so much!!

She looks a bit thin, but if she is a juvenile then that's fine. As she matures, she will bulk up. The best way to confirm good health would be to have her examined by your veterinarian or an experienced herp veterinarian.

I got my crickets for my bearded dragon and I put all 200 crickets In a tub like a cricket keeper and I have another tub to put my bearded dragon in so I can put some crickets there but when I did he didn't eat any, in fact some even jumped out. It's not that he doesn't have want to eat its just maybe he just didn't see them because it was a somewhat dark area but not to dark so maybe he didn't see them? But my question is where do i put the crickets so he can eat them without them jumping?

Typically bearded dragons should be able to catch and eating moving crickets. It is possible that your bearded dragon was no hungry or if they are feet lots of treats sometimes they won't always eat crickets. I typically feed my bearded dragon crickets in his normal enclosure. I would recommend trying to just put the crickets into his normal home and see if he does better eating them. If he continues to not eat crickets I would recommend taking him to a vet to make sure he does not have an injury in his mouth like fungal or bacterial disease. I hope that helps

Hey i dropped my lepord gecko while i was standing and she started to seize out when i picked her back up. She laid her head down and closed her eyes like she was about to pass but she started to twitch again. She is in her tank and is now limping on her back left foot. Shes about 9 months old

Keep her warm and as stress free as possible. If she continues to have seizures, she will need to be examined by your vet, an experienced herp vet or at the nearest veterinary ER. If the lameness persists or if her foot becomes swollen or bruised, she will need to have that examined as well for fractures or soft tissue injury.

Will only poop in tall grass. Which hasn't necessarily been an issue. He will ONLY poop in tall grass or he won't at all. But snakes. There are just snakes everywhere this year. And I saw snake skin today in the only grass where Spock will poop. It TERRIFIED me. What can I do to get him to poop elsewhere? I desperately want to keep him safe and also have him poop without it being the biggest struggle ever. He'll go in any tall grass but I can't keep a decent lookout for snakes. Any advice thanks

You can restrict his area to a location where the grass is cut. You can leash walk him in the areas you prefer until he gets used to going in those areas only. When the weather cools the snakes become less active so there will be less moving around

Can red eared slider turtles eat boiled carrots and grapes?

A small amount of carrot would be ok as a treat. For information on proper diet and treats that are safe for your turtle, you can consult http://www.wnyherpsociety.org/care-sheets/turtles-and-tortoises/ and click on the link at the bottom labeled "red ear slider".

I'm looking to adopt a kitten. I saw this cute tortoise, but she is very skittish. when I read about tortoise, it sounds like might not be very social. Some of the other kittens seem more friendly. I owned a DSH for 20 years and she was social and pretty cuddly. I want cuddly.

Each kitten can have its own personality that differs from the "standard" for the breed. In general I find male cats to be more "cuddly" than females but there are exceptions to that rule. Also kittens can have drastic changes in their personality as they grow into adults. So you may look at adult cats for adoption as their personalities are more set. The other consideration is that in a shelter setting it is hard to really judge a cat's personality since there can be strange noises, smells, environment. At the end of the day if this kitten is really "speaking" to you it could be she is meant for you and you can help mold her personality through lots of interaction and play.

I have a tiny bearded dragon baby and is there anything I need to look out for specifically to see if she is unwell

Monitor for lethargy, loss of appetite or loose stool. Dehydration is a common cause of hatchling death. Mist her several times a day. Do not use a water bowl as it presents a risk of drowning. Feed appropriately sized prey. This can include roaches, crickets or silkworm. Fresh, chopped greens and a commercial pelleted diet should also be offered. Offer a calcium supplement daily and a multvitamin 5 days per week. Her enclosure should contain climbing furniture, a basking area, a heat lamp, UVB lightsource and a couple hides (one on the cool side, one on the warm side).
