Homemade Cat Treat: Kitty Pizza

When family pizza and movie night rolls around, don’t let your cat miss out on the fun! While certain ingredients on your pizza like garlic and too much dairy can’t be enjoyed by your cat, this recipe takes some of their favorite foods and makes it into a fun treat so they can enjoy a slice as you do.

Cat pizza recipe:

(makes 6-8 slices/servings)

Ingredients:

Supplies:

  • Parchment paper
  • Baking sheet
  • Sieve or cheesecloth
  • Mixing bowl

Directions:

  • Heat your oven to 350°
  • Line baking sheet with parchment paper and set aside
  • Drain all liquid from tuna, use sieve or cheesecloth to get tuna as dry as possible
  • Mix tuna, egg and flour until combined
  • Form a disk out of the tuna mixture on the parchment paper (roughly 3-4 inches in diameter)
  • Bake for 15-20 minutes or until your “crust” becomes firm
  • Remove crust from oven and let cool completely
  • When cool, spread purée treat over top of your crust
  • Sprinkle treats on top
  • Cut and serve 1 slice to your pet!

While it’s easy to overindulge during pizza nights, keep in mind that  treats should only make up 10% of your cat’s overall diet to keep them happy and healthy.
