We rescued a newborn puppy 5 days ago and her eyes are still obviously closed. We know that dogs can’t open their eyes within 2 weeks but her eyes seem to be sealed shut? I don’t know if all newborn puppies eyes are sealed shut and if this is normal

Thank you for contacting PetCoach with your question about Joji. How lovely of you to rescue her! Yes, they can appear to be sealed shut, and it take take between 2-3 weeks of age of them to open their eye. As long as there is no discharge coming from her eyes, it's likely normal. I hope this helps!
