Hello! Last night my dog ate a pork rib bone. This morning he was scratching at his neck incessantly. I gave him a Benadryl, which made him fall asleep but he kept scratching when he woke up. He's stopped scratching now. He's had two BM's today, the first one was normal and the second one was quite loose. He ate his breakfast and a treat. Wondering if I should take him to an ER or if I should just keep monitoring. Is the scratching a concern?

Hello and thank you for contacting PetCoach. I don't think that scratching on the neck can be related to eating a rib bone. It sounds more like allergic reaction or other skin complaint. As long as Killian is not gagging or vomiting and his energy level is high, it should be safe to wait till your local vets are open. If he continues to scratch the neck, please book an appointment for him to get him checked over.
