my hamster has for about two months his eyes swollen, protruding outward and a prominent white membrane is also seen in the inner corner of the eye. If I put ciprofloxacin drops in their eyes, is that okay?

Thanks for reaching out about Puffy. Ciprofloxacin ophthalmic drops should be safe but not all antibiotics treat all infections. With a chronic infection, systemic antibiotics might have better results as eye drops will not penetrate deep into tissues. With a protruding eye, a deep infection, tumor, dental disease, and more need to be considered. A veterinary visit is recommended. Good luck.
