Biography

Dr. Jennifer is from the Mississippi Gulf Coast. She is a graduate of Mississippi State University College of Veterinary Medicine. She has been practicing small animal medicine for the past 8 years in both general practice and emergency medicine. Dr Jenny is a fear free certified practitioner.

She had babies 3 weeks agin bow one of the babaies strugeks toe drink and hes tummy is bolated and hard and mothe is really dry what can it be and what can i do to help the baby

Try a warm compress and to stimulate him to go to the bathroom. You can try a small of karo syrup as this can help them go to the bathroom. If there is no progress then may need to see a vet to what else is going on

A few months ago I was researching dog food allergies and realized Moose has had most of the symptoms; itchy ears, licking his paws, vomiting (almost once a month), and light-ish poop. I switched him to a new food and all these symptoms went away. The new food started getting expensive so we tried out a cheaper one but all the symptoms came back, other than vomiting. I switched him back to the other food and he's been eating only that for a little over a month but he still has the symptoms. Why?

Food allergies can take 8 weeks to see changes. If there was a secondary skin infection this time then you will need antibiotics to clear that as the food won’t treat that. You can do a weekly bath in a medicated shampoo to help also

Kyoki started going into heats at 4 months old. She started have rough heats every 2 weeks soon after they started! She seems to have gotten pregnant while my family was away for a weekend. I don't know the due date for sure, but I am guessing next week thursday (8/24/18). I am concerned that she is too small! Is there a particular size or actions that would show that she is big enough to have kittens safely? Or should I immediately go to the vet and plan a C section?

Your vet can do an X-ray now to see how large the kittens are and how many you can expect. Otherwise all you can do wait for labor to start. If you notice a black or brown discharge or heavy contractions for 30-60 ministers no progression, then there is a problem and she needs to be seen by a vet

Cat has breast cancer on one side. Has large nodule on cheek. Hairless, normal skin color, hard w.ith fluid center that drains a thin sticky clear fluid. Rapidly getting adjacent ones of various sizes. Occassionally gets scratched and bleeds but does not seem itchy. Cat is 14, female, spayed Maine Coon mix. No other health issues. Acts, drinks, eats normal. No known allergies , no fleas. I just clean it with peroxide as needed. What might it be and any treatment?

Mammary growths in cats have a high chance of being a malignant cancer. Since they are open and draining, they may also be infected It would be best to have a vet check the area to see if surgery is an option to remove them or at least medication to help clean them and clear the infection. Peroxide can actually delay healing after the first use. You are safer with mild soap and water to wipe it clean

My dog just went for a walk right after it rained and came home with numerous small scattered pink spots all over his chest and tummy. They are not raised and are smooth to the touch? What could this be?

This may be an allergic reaction to something he came in contact with outside. A bath in baby shampoo can be helpful to clean his skin and coat. If he starts itching you can try benadryl. If there sores continue or spread then he will need to be checked by your vet for prescription medicaiton
