She’s 7 weeks pregnant but still has a hairy belly and also she isn’t that wide her under belly is big and hangs and her nipples and sagging but she isn’t that wide from the sides I was really excited to see her heavly pregnant because I’ve never seen a pregnant dog before does she still have time to grow the big belly I was so excited for???

Yes, there is still time for Coco to get a bigger belly, but keep in mind that just like with human women, female dogs all carry puppies differently and some will get bigger than others. I hope this helps!

I just noticed that my dog has a lump under her jaw- it seems like it just appeared- planning to take her to the vet in the am- should I be concerned about the evening?

This could be a tooth root abscess or a swelling from an insect bite or a salivary gland problem. Unless you think this is very painful, there is really nothing you can or need to do. If Chelsea appears in a lot of pain you may want to take her to a vet tonight, but if she is comfortable, then there is nothing you need to do.

My dog just threw up a used tampon, i think it was in her for a couple days because it came out really brown and old looking. Will she be okay now?

Thanks for using Boop by Petco! If this is all she ingested then yes she is likely going to be fine now that she threw it up. I would encourage you to continue to monitor her for signs of a gastrointestinal obstruction such as vomiting, abdominal pain and/or inappetence and if seen have her evaluated by a veterinarian for further assessment and treatment. Good luck and have a great day!

My dog is 8 weeks pregnant and has just pooed with a mucus coating at the end of the stool, what can this mean?

Hello, congratulations on your future puppies. It may be indicative of the changes she is undergoing from her pregnancy. It may also be a sign that she could be a little stressed or that she may have gotten into something she was not supposed to (new food, trash, table food, etc.). At this time, you should continue to monitor her at home, if you see any changes in her appetite, vomiting, diarrhea, lethargy, or a painful abdomen, then you should have Misty evaluated immediately. Hope this helps and best of luck.

will vitamin k harm my dog if im not sure he ate poison

It needs to be Vitamin K1; not Vitamin K3 or any others. It can hurt him if you don't give him the right dose as Vitamin K is stored in fat and can build up in the tissues. If too much is given, it can cause a toxicity. What poison do you think he ate? Vitamin K is only indicated if an anticoagulant poison was ingested.

What time of heartworm flea and tick prevention do you recommend for my Australian Shepherd. I’m afraid to use heartguard and idk about best flea and tick prevention

Hello and thank you for reaching out to Boop by Petco. This is a good question, especially with some Australian Shepherds having a mutation of their MDR-1 gene. Fortunately, Heartgard is safe to use in these breeds for the prevention of heartworms. The amount of ivermectin contained within a monthly dose is not harmful/toxic to dogs even with the MDR-1 mutation. I would be careful to ensure that Josie does not accidentally ingest multiple months-worth of doses, as this cumulative dose could potentially be toxic to her. As far as topical flea and tick preventatives go, brands such as Frontline and K9 Advantix are also safe to use in these breeds. I hope this is helpful!

My dog lhasa apso is 60 days pregnant..shes hungry but eats less and sleeping alot..puppy movements are felt..digging behavior seen..no milk discharge.. no signs such as panting seen..shes aggressive when i try to check rectal temperature..when should i expect labour? Any other signs to b seen?

Hi, thanks for using Boop by Petco! The rectal temperature can help but sometimes it is not accurate. Digging can indicate stage 1 labor which is nesting and decreased appetite. Panting and discomfort can also indicate impending labor. I would say she is soon to go in to labor! Good luck!

My dog has small holes on his back by his tail and little black dots that you can squeeze out of his skin when I get the pieces out they are red to black in color and don’t look like a bug im super worried about what it is but can’t afford a vet

It sounds like your dog has a skin infection. Usually infections are characterized by small red pustules full of pus. But sometimes they can look like whiteheads or blackheads, also known as comedones. Your dog will likely need a medicated shampoo to help flush out his hair follicles that have become clogged and often times need antibiotics to help the infection cleared up. There is a chance as well that this may not be an infection but maybe small cysts that are present. If this is the case usually no treatment is needed. A picture for reference would help us determine if an infection is present or if it is just a cyst. I hope this helps. Thanks For using Boop by Petco. Best of luck.

My dog just ate a vitafusion fiber well sugar free gummy

You need to take Gia into a vet immediately. This gummy contains xylitol, which is highly toxic to dogs. She needs veterinary care now, this is not something that can be treated at home. Please take her into an ER vet clinic; if there isn't one in your area, there will be a vet on call for emergencies. The information to reach that vet is found on a clinic's answering machine or website.
