Hi vet,I have two budgies one male and female from last 10 months. From last few days I can observe that my female budgie's beak is turning into brown and it eats mostly on cuttle fish bone. Now I can also see that it's facing problem to poop.It sometime sits under the perch for less minute. Pls help me to solve the problem and I love my birds a lot.

Thanks for reaching out. It sounds as if she could be egg bound. A veterinary visit is needed to assess and provide a diagnostic/treatment plan. The brown cere is a sign of ovulation (reproductively active). Check and correct diet as calcium deficiencies commonly play a part. Budgies need to eat a wide variety of vegetables and/or pellets, can provide these nutrients. Good luck.

My Oscar fish is about 4 months old and when I first got him he was very active and then out of no where he became very lathargic and he barely eats and it look as so his scales are beginning to come off he is housed with onother Oscar but the other one doesn't mess with him so I don't know what is going on

Hello, The appearance of losing scales is often due to a collection of fluid in the abdomen, called "dropsy". It unfortunately bears a poor prognosis. To learn more about dropsy, I recommend this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=42DAoriYhVI I hope this is helpful. Thanks for using Boop by Petco.

How to treat Discus Fish 's Fin Rot disease ? My Discus fish has black coloration with fast breathing and he has fin rot ? So how to treat them please reply soon

Fin rot is commonly caused by poor water quality. Submit a water sample for quality testing. Most pet stores will do this for free or a nominal fee. Clinical examination should always include a water quality check, even if you have done so already. Water testing should be performed with a quality test kit, measuring NH4, NO2 and NO3. High ammonia levels, PH imbalances may be responsible for these signs. Oxygen concentration and quality of the filters should be determined as well. If she/he is in a tank larger than 2 gallons move her/him to a smaller tank if possible to make treatment easier. The best treatments for mild fin rot are frequent water changes and aquarium salt. Maintain the water the treatment tank between 76-78'F. Turn the light and filter off for the time being. Aquarium salt can be used at 1 teaspoon per gallon. Dissolve it in tank water before adding it. Perform daily 100% water changes, making a fresh salt solution each day. Treat for a maximum of 10 days.

My cat is 5yrs old scottish fold and persion about 7 months ago we had another male cat invading our house but that has stopped now it moved away. Anyway my cat started licking himself and he is bare around his legs and under his tummy. A vet advised me to reguarly worm him which iv been doing and i stopped giving him sachet food for 6 weeks and mainly feed him fish and fresh meat but they havent helped. Is there anything else i can do?

Cat pheromone therapy to decrease stress is my recommendation. The product is called Feliway. I suggest using the diffuser product. ( https://www.feliway.com/au/Why-Feliway/Bald-patch-on-cat!-Here-is-how-to-help ) The other thing to do is environmental enrichment. My 12 year old Pekinese is visibly struggling with her joints. I was advised to put her on fish oil, but I can’t afford dog vitamins. According to some research I’ve done- she needs about 200mg per day. The human OTC fish oil pearls are 183mg each and humans take 3. Would it be safe to give my dog 1 of the human otc fish oil low dose pearls?

You can give human fish oil. Lily Sue can have 1,000 mg fish oil containing 300 mg of EPA/DHA combined for every 30 pounds of body weight. I'm not sure what she weighs, but she could probably have one or two tablets a day. Start with one to see how she goes. I would also consider getting pain medication from her vet. I hope this helps.

My garter snake vomited up his food which contained a fish and a bloodworm. Should I be worried?

Thanks for reaching out about Sylas. Was this the first time for regurgitation? If so, give the gastrointestinal tract a few days rest and try re-feeding. If regurgitates again, a veterinary visit is recommended. Intestinal parasites or infections are not uncommon. Systemic illnesses or husbandry problems (too cold) or diet problems (prey too cold or overheated) are also possible. Discuss your snake's husbandry and diet routine with your veterinarian. Good luck.

I dont know if you are a tropical fish specialist. But there is something going on in my tank and need help diagnosing it. My corydora has two raised growths ..one at the base of its fin. And one under the eye. My pleco seems a bit tattered too. A little flashing was happening with my yoyo loach also. That's now stopped after a water change.

Thanks for reaching out about your aquarium and including photos. Did you test your water quality prior to the water change? Continue to test for pH, ammonia, nitrites and nitrates. Pristine water quality is needed for health. Are any of the fish new, that could have introduced parasites? Itching/flashing can be due to water quality, external parasites, bacterial or viral infections and other causes. The white lesions on the photo could be fungal infections. A skin scrape and examination under the microscope (at a veterinarian's office) is needed for an attempt to determine a cause. Fungal infections are often secondary problems, so check water quality first. Good luck.

Hi Boop by Petco, I have an 11 year old dachshund and in the last 6 to 8 months he's had these reoccurring blotches, hair loss, and skin peeling. It looks like sores but not the red tender kind, they always look like its healing but it keeps popping up. When I first was it I took him to the vet n we did 3 rounds of antibiotics, I also started giving him omega 3 fish oil. Seemed to help n they went away, now they're back. Please help.

Any breed of cat can breed together. If you do not wish to have kittens I would recommend getting one or both cats fixed to prevent this. I am also including some articles on introducing a new cat to your household. https://www.petcoach.co/article/bringing-home-a-new-cat-or-kitten/ https://www.petcoach.co/article/should-you-get-another-cat/

What is the safest way to treat Driftwood and large rocks for safe use in aquarium if I find something I really like in the outside world if possible

Thanks for reaching out about The Girls. Driftwood needs to be soaked for prolonged periods of time in fresh water, to allow any possible accumulated toxins (heavy metals, pesticides, other organics) to leach out. Good luck.
