I have a 2 year old bearded dragon and just trying to figure out why he does things. I've taken him out of the cage for an explore but he has gone into the corner and trying to what I think is digging and laying down flat? Is this a bad thing or his he just being normal?

Flattening out, or pancaking, can be a fear response. He may feel uncomfortable or stressed outside of his enclosure for long periods of time. This response is sometimes accompanied by gaping (opening his mouth wide). It can also be an attempt to create more surface area to increase heat absorption. If he is away from a heat source for too long, he may cool off.

Sassy snuck into our dogs crate with the dog. I didn't see her until I couldn't find her to feed her in her crate. The other dog take apoquel 3.4 mg which was in its food. I found her in the other dogs bowl but I have no idea if she actually got the apoquel or if the other one got it. Sassy is just shy of 9 months. This just happened and no vets within a 1 hour drive are open. I'm checking on the er vets but have to check in and wait for permission to go. Can she survive this until tomorrow?

Apoquel has a fairly wide margin of safety in dosing. At worst, you may see some minor GI upset (vomiting, diarrhea) and maybe a slight decrease in appetite. Further treatment likely will not be needed unless symptoms persists for more than 24-48 hours.

I came home from work and Chicken (7mo pitbull) pooped all over his cage. I don’t know how long he has been sitting in it but I cleaned him up. I noticed his testicles are inflamed, it has like a raspberry pattern type of inflammation. Will he be OK? Should I take him to the vet? Is There’ something I can do for him at home? Hello, thank you for using Boop by Petco. So sorry that Chicken is having this issue. This is what is called scrotal dermatitis - an infection of the skin of the scrotum due to high moisture. You can treat this at home. 1. Make sure his environment is always clean and dry. 2. Get this topical spray hydrogel and apply it to the affected area 2-3 times per day until healed. ( https://www.petco.com/shop/en/petcostore/product/vetericyn-plus-antimicrobial-wound-and-skin-hydrogel-for-pets ) 3. Get him a cone collar to wear. If he starts to lick the scrotum, the problem will get worse or may not heal. He needs to wear it until the scrotum is back to normal. Be sure to get a cone collar that is long enough to go past the end of his nose or his will still be able to lick. Hello, I am Yusuf and my budgie got injured. Its name is Blue and for the past few days, his feet got curled in wrong directions. I think it was because he had too long toenails and i think thats the reason. Now his three fingers are curled and looking in wrong directions. Im trying to constantly keep him in his cage and fix his fingers, although i would like for him to heal really quickly. If you got any solutions please tell me.

Hello Yusuf. I'm sorry this happened to Blue. I agree with you, I suspect his nail was too long and it must have gotten stuck in something and he damaged his toe. The toe looks red and swollen and could very well be broken (hence the curling). I know you would like to do something and try to make it heal faster but honestly it is best to leave it alone to heal naturally. There really isn't anything you can do as that toe cannot be immobilized or splinted. The good thing is that birds bones heal relatively quickly anyway. Even if the toe heals in a curled position it will not likely cause him any long term issues. The best thing is to just make sure his nails are trimmed regularly so they can get shorter and to make sure there is nothing in his cage that the nails could get stuck in. Hope this helps. Hello, thank you for using Boop by Petco. The damage to the plastron is most likely from either trauma or infection. I have never seen something like this due to parasites. You should really try to find a local veterinarian to examine him as he likely needs more in depth treatment than what you can provide at home with over the counter remedies. You may need to travel towards Green Bay in order to find a reptile veterinarian. I found a few in that area. This lil guy had been caged in a barn the first 2.5 years of his life. The rescue I adopted him from treated him for ticks, fleas, and 2X for ear mites. He is scratching his right ear and it's a little pink, could this be return of the mites? If so, the rescue said apple cider vinegar will kill them. Is it better to be treated by a vet or is ACV worth a shot? His right eye was goopy, too. I have another cat, though new guy is still in quarantine I'm concerned about transfer to her.

It could be that he has ear mites - it would be a recurrence though as they are only transmitted cat to cat. It is more likely they didn't get them fully treated. The best way to treat ear mites is with a topical product called Revolution (selamectin). It may have a different brand name in Canada. It is a topical that goes on the back of the neck, not in the ear. It is, by far, the easiest and most effective way to treat them. It is a prescription item that can only be purchased from a veterinarian. If the rescue was using ACV to treat the mites, it is highly likely they didn't get them all. I have never hear of ACV treating ear mites. It could also be that it is not ear mites but either wax build-up or a secondary ear infection. I cannot tell you that for sure. He needs to be seen by a vet - not the rescue personnel. So, yes, I think you should take him to your vet for an exam. Hope this helps. Best wishes.
