The discoloration on the marginal scutes may be due to dietary or environmental deficiencies. It may also be caused by bacterial infection or trauma. The pink coloration in the seams is normal. In other species, it would indicate possible infection. Confirm adequate UVB lighting as well as clean water and heat. A lack of any one of these can cause stress which will lead to infection. Monitor the areas for any rapid change or growth. A physical exam with your veterinarian or a vet experienced in treating reptiles would be needed for a definitive diagnose after which the appropriate treatment can be administered.

Yes, I see the two wounds, and they could be caused by her scratching at her ear. While that could be due to fleas, it may be she has an ear infection causing her to scratch at her ears. Continually scratching at them would cause the wounds to get bigger. This does need to be checked out by a vet, as if she does have an ear infection, it could be caused by ear mites, yeast, or bacteria. In addition, the ear drum needs to be visualized through an otoscope to make sure it's still intact before any medication is given. Ear problems can be considered an emergency as leaving them untreated can lead to hearing loss. Given that these wounds are getting bigger, I'd see if you can get her into her vet asap. My Shih Tzu havanese is 11 yrs diagnosed with cancer mams. She had surgery in October and it got worse. Recently she scratched the area which is under her right armpit and open up the lumps. Now they are weeping. My question is how do I stop the weeping and how do I stop her from scratching it.? I do keep her covered at all times except for when I'm cleaning the wounds. Please be advised that to prevent this from happening to future pets, they need to be spayed before their first heat cycle. The chance of getting mammary tumors is virtually zero when a female dog is spayed young. It is very difficult for me to tell the orientation of what is going on in this photo. I'm assuming the photo is of the abdomen since you said they are mammary tumors but again, it is hard to tell what is going on based on this one photo. You are not going to get these to clear up and will likely only get worse; they are malignant cancer. They will only stop weeping when she stops scratching them. All you can do is exactly what you are doing although I don't think you should blow dry them - it is very easy to burn the skin making it worse. Everything else you are doing is fine. I'm not sure what you are using to cover her but I suggest a recovery suit and to put a feminine maxi pad between the skin lesions and the suit to catch any discharge. This protective layer should stop her from traumatizing the area. You can also put a human baby sock on her back feet so it covers the nails so if she does scratch she cannot hurt the area. Does my cat have ringworm

Hi, I would not say this looks like a typical ringworm lesion. The areas are normally hairless round areas but can also become more inflamed and crusty depending on the dermatophyte causing the problem. Hello, I had a mold problem in the apartment for the last 5 years on winters. I did clean the mold every time it shows and ventilate the room. I wonder if it can has any effect on my cat? In the long term? She never showed any signs related to it (she is a carrier of Pulmonary Mycoplasma, since she was a kitten, so any respiratory problems were always related to it). What should I notice when she is exposed to the mold (until we remove it) and also, can it cause lung cancer in the long term?

Hello, thank you for using Boop by Petco. Mold can cause respiratory issues in cats long term however it is difficult to tell if it is effecting them until they start showing clinical signs. Depending on age and health condition, the signs could range from mild to severe. Some signs that cats may exhibit are as follows: Runny nose Itchy and runny eyes Skin infections Persistent scratching Coughs and wheezing sounds Nose/mouth bleeding Continuous mold exposure can cause seizures and tremors. Cats in particular will become agitated or anxious due to allergies. Both dogs and cats that have been exposed to mold are also known to shake their ears and heads. Some may also chew their paws, have chronic ear infections, foul odor of the skin and hair loss are other signs that may emerge after mold exposure. You may want to consider getting some HEPA filters in your home to help minimize exposure to both you and your cat. Hello! I wonder how can I wash my cat's catnip toys? Can I machine wash them woth a pet friendly detergent? Like "Seventh Generation"? I use it on her blankets.. but I wonder if I use it on her cantip toys. Some of them were exposed to mold, so I don't want to wash them with only water, and definately not throw away all of them... Thanks for visiting Boop by Petco! You can wash your pets toys in any detergent you want to. There are no stipulations to detergent. Especially if mold was on them. You definitely want to add some bleach to the wash to ensure it kills the mold. Follow the instructions on your machine to help prevent any kind of discoloration of the toys. If your pet has a known or suspected allergy, then I would use a hypoallergenic detergent or a baby detergent such as Deft detergent. Hi, yes it looks like Precious has a wound. It could be an abscess that has opened and is trying to heal. If this is the case, Precious will require the area to be cleaned thoroughly by your veterinarian and might also need antibiotics. Do you have another cat that might have unwillingly caused this ?
