My Hypo bearded dragon(male) mated with my Amarican leatherback (female). I'm not sure what to do with the babies because as ive heard recently, breeders are trying to get rid of the hypo geene. What should i do with the babies if they dont turn out to be slugs?

If the eggs are recently laid, simply discard them. If not, you can still sell them. I haven't heard of breeders specifically not breeding hypos anymore. There will always be a market for them among casual collectors/owners.

Check out this article on it: https://humanepro.org/magazine/articles/deconstructing-spayneuter-debate Not spaying her can cause a pseudopregnancy reoccurrence, but it doesn't increase her risk of mammary tumors. That's already going to be 25% because she's had more than two heats. Keep in mind, 50% of mammary tumors in dogs are malignant. She is eight years old, so she is already at a higher risk of developing cancer simply because she is an older dog. She is also at risk of a pyometra, which is an infection of the uterus that is fatal without treatment. The treatment for a pyometra is spaying the dog, which is an emergency during a pyometra and can cost many thousands of dollars. In all honesty, it's best to spay her. It will keep her from developing a pyometra as well as a pseudopregnancy, and it will keep her from getting pregnant if she accidentally mates. Dogs over the age of six should never have puppies. In my opinion, it's best for her to health to get spayed asap. I hope this helps!

Hi my dog Deogie has been biting and licking his paws and trying to literally pull off his toe nails like they itch or something and his paws are red and his nail bed is a light brown color. Can he have athletes foot? And can I use hydrocortisone cream or athletes foot spray? Please help it looks like it can be really annoying for my baby!!

If he is biting and licking his paws a lot, that tells me he is quite itchy, and that is usually a sign of allergies. It's not a sign of a fungal infection, and it's not called athlete's foot in dogs, it's called ringworm. This is something that needs to be diagnosed by a vet in order for him to be treated correctly, and I would take him into a vet today or tomorrow. Until he sees a vet, put a cone on him to keep him from biting at his paws. You can buy one at a pet store if you don't have one at home already. I hope this helps!

My young female started her heat about 22 days ago, she was flagging about 9 days ago. By this past weekend, the males were eating again and her vulva was shrinking back down, no more discharge and no more flagging. She was even starting to snap at them. Yesterday my husband was supposed to be watching the dogs and left them to use the restroom, he came out and my older intact male was tied with her briefly. What are the chances of pregnancy? This was the ONLY tie that occurred.

Thank you for contacting Boop by Petco with your question. There is a chance of pregnancy, but the best time for a dog is get is pregnant is between day 9-11 of their cycle. Given it's been 22 days, it makes it less likely, but there is still a chance. I'd wait 30 days, then take her into the vet to get blood drawn to check for the hormone relaxin, which occurs when a dog is pregnant. I hope this helps.

Hi! I have two cats who I adopted together as kittens, who have ALWAYS peed outside the litterbox (poop inside), on any material on the floor, though we have 2 older cats who go in the boxes. On a whim, I bought weewee pads and placed them where the cats had been going on the floor, and I realized that they must have been fostered as babies with pads (grrrr). I would like to get some area rugs and want to know how to keep them off!

Substrate preference can be very difficult for cats! I would start by moving the pee pads into an empty litter box to get the kittens used to going in and out of it, and then gradually begin to add in a little litter over the pee pads, until they can be transitioned from it to the litter fully. You may also need to try a few litter types, such as paper or corn cob litter, that may be closer in substrate feel to the peed pads and may encourage them to use it. Daily scooping and making sure the other cats aren't bullying the kittens away from the box can also help reduce accidents. I would also keep any area rugs and the like away from the potty areas so they don't confuse the two. You can also use an enzymatic cleaner to help clean up any accidents and break down urine particles that may be encouraging them to keep using the spot.

My baby got small bump last week and she chewed it, so it looks like a patch. I lost my best friend, my baby by Mast cell tumor in 2021. I am paranoid seeing hairless red circle on doggies body. I made an appo with our Vet but it will be 2 weeks later, I am super worried day by day. Hi there and thank you for using Boop by Petco to address your concerns. Based on the photo you provided, this could be a number of things. Tornado is very young, so there is a chance that this could be something called a histiocytoma. This type of mass is commonly seen in younger animals and is non-cancerous that typically goes away on its own. Some cases need to be surgically removed if they are not resolving or if they are growing in size.The other possibility is that it is something cancerous. Mast cell tumor would certainly be on my list of rule outs. To be certain this is nothing to be concerned about, I would recommend that you take Tornado in to be seen by a veterinarian so that the most appropriate diagnostic and treatment recommendations can be made.
