DIY Hamster Treats: Strawberry Yogurt Drops

Looking for an easy snack to make at home for your hamster? While hamsters can eat a variety of fruits and vegetables as treats, this homemade yogurt drop recipe offers something a little different.

DIY Hamster Strawberry Yogurt Drops

Ingredients:

  • ½ cup plain, low-fat Greek yogurt

  • 2 fresh strawberries


Supplies:

  • Small bowl

  • Spoon

  • Small plastic baggie

  • Baking sheet

  • Parchment paper


Directions:

  • Line baking sheet with parchment paper and set aside

  • Puree strawberries in blender or mash by hand

  • Mix strawberry puree into yogurt 

  • Place yogurt mixture in plastic bag and snip off the lower corner

  • Squeeze small drops onto parchment paper

  • Freeze for at least 3 hours

  • Remove from freezer and place drops into freezer-safe container

  • Feed one to two* treats per day; store the rest in freezer for up to two months 


*While these can be tasty, remember that treats should make up no more than 10% of your pet’s total diet.
