The humidity in my bearded dragons enclosure is too high(around 55%) but I cannot get it down. I have barely any water in there and I use reptile carpet(that is completely dry) I'm afraid he's going to get respiratory problems since he's so small. what should I do? Thank you in advance!

Use a screen cover for the enclosure if you aren't using one already. Move the water dish away from the basking light to minimize evaporation. A dehumidifier in the room may be necessary if you live in a humid area of the country.

I was advised by my daughter's dog trainer to contact a vet about my Yorkie's anxiety. She is 7 yo and 12 lbs. She started off scared of some fireworks in the neighborhood. Yes medications can help with anxiety, but she would need to see a vet in person to get the medication. We cannot provide a prescription for it from the site without seeing her in person; it's illegal, and against the user terms of the site. I recommend contacting her vet to make her an appointment to discuss the use of medication. A thundershirt may also help in conjunction with medication. You can buy them online, I also recommend looking at one of those. A tip to keep in mind when she is afraid is not to console her. It's natural to want to do that, but it actually reinforces the behavior. By consoling her, you are telling her it's ok to act this way. I hope this helps!

I have an elderly cat, 19-ish, tiny, 5-6 lbs. The flea collar we used to use stopped working. We got a Seresto, it nearly killed her, she stopped eating for a couple of days and got very lethargic. We removed it and she bounced back. I need a suggestion for flea control. We are afraid to use the kind you apply to the neck after Seresto… you can’t take the liquid back off like a collar.

lHello, thank you for using Boop by Petco. There are are oral flea pills available, however, you also cannot take back an oral pill once you give it...... A 19 year old cat may have an underlying kidney or liver problem (actually this is very likely) that is making her more sensitive to these medications. If she has not been to the vet recently she should be examined and have some blood testing run. If you continue to try things and her organs are not functioning properly you may really put her over the edge. Luckily she recovered after the Seresto Collar incident. I suggest you: 1. Treat the environment (ie: the house) as the fleas will be constantly hatching and continuing the problem. I strongly recommend Knockout Spray ES. This works better than any foggers or other home treatments and can be used on all carpeted and upholstered surfaces. ( https://www.chewy.com/virbac-knockout-es-area-treatment/dp/53855 ) 2. ALL animals in the house much be on some type of flea prevention as well or the fleas will continue to thrive. 3. To treat her specifically, without using the traditional flea medications, you can use this waterless mousse - it is only a temporary fix though. I have a 6 year old corgi mix, 49 lbs, and has recently started avoiding steps going up or down, wont even walk over a pillow unless we move it out of the way. His lower spine right above his tail causes him to whine or cry out when touched to hard, and he lays with his hind legs both to one side and never underneath him. I fear he has hip dysplasia and I want to know what I can do at home or holistically to help with his pain.

Poor Ban Ban sounds like he is in a lot of pain! It could be he has a problem with his hips, but I worry that he has a problem with his back. Unfortunately, there is nothing holistic to help with this. He is in pain, and he needs pain medication from the vet. Also, he has to see the vet to get safe pain medication as many human pain medications are toxic to dogs and can be fatal to dogs. He needs an x-ray of his back and hips to determine if there are any skeletal changes causing his pain, and his vet can discuss pain medications and further treatments. There may be things you can do at home, such as swimming (great exercise that is low impact on the joints), but it is super important to get him to the vet so he isn't in pain any longer. A dog's normal temperature is between 101-102F, and if a pregnant dog's temperature drops below 100F, that's typically a sign of active labor. She may appear restless and anxious, and you could see panting, pacing, and a refusal of food. The loss of the mucus plug can occur anywhere from a few hours to four to five days before giving birth. The best way to know for sure is to have her seen by a vet. I'm concerned that she's been having these signs for a week, I would take her into a vet immediately to get checked out.
