My leopard gecko got stuck in an ordament (like really stuck, I found her hanging from it with her abdomen stuck in a hole) and when we got her out she had some light cuts from trying to escape, and it looks like an egg might have turned completely sideways and may have been why she has got stuck? She has two lumps coming out her backside where she was stuck. What should I do to care for her? Thanks!

Oh, your poor little Gecko! That's rough! Are you sure it is a female? The two things coming out the back end may be hemipenes as the males have two bulges on the underside fo the tale where their hemipenes are. If that is what is going on, it means a vet needs to try to put them back or or they may need to be amputated. Also, your little friend may need some anti inflammatory meds to reduce swelling after being stuck like that.

Hello. If Scarlett has 2 lumps pretty much over each hip, & with Scarlett being a slightly older dog, then my guess is she has "love handles". If Scarlett is also a little overweight, the hips are a common place for some fat to accumulate. Rest assured that tumors rarely happen in the same area on both sides of the body, & since your vet is rather unconcerned, then it sounds like Scarlett is fine. If you are really concerned, you can ask your veterinarian to do a fine needle aspirate in which a very small needle is used to remove a drop or 2 of sample from under the lumps. Thank you for contacting Boop by Petco with your question about Belly. She should be ok. According to studies done by Zoetis who make Simparica, "In the overdose groups, transient and self-limiting neurological signs were observed in some animals: mild tremors at 3 times the maximum exposure dose and convulsions at 5 times the maximum exposure dose. All dogs recovered without treatment." You don't need to do anything. I hope this helps!

Hi there! It's hard to tell what's going on exactly from the photo, however, if you've noticed a lump it's a good idea to monitor it for a few days for any signs of an issue or changes to it such as increased swelling, pain, oozing debris, or failing to heal. Lumps can be due to a number of things including scabs/abscesses from other cat scratches, cysts, blisters, allergic reactions, etc. Keeping the spot clean and dry and placing an Elizabethan (cone) collar on Squish as needed may also help it to heal. If the spot worsens, becomes very bothersome, or doesn't seem to be improving, a vet visit in person is best to figure out what exactly the bump is and so that treatment can be provided depending on its cause.

Are these just hairballs my cat is daily throwing up, or is he ingesting something like yarn? He's bad to chew and swallow strange stuff, but we can't find what the source of these might be. You can see that his stomach contents have to come up when these gobs are in there, so he's not getting enough nutrition. One of the pellets shown is pretty solid, and the other is squishy. What to do?

It is ot possible to identify the source from the photo but your vet may be able to examine to confirm if it is indeed cat hair or synthetic yarn. I would recommend feeding a diet formulated for hair ball reduction for 3-4weeks. A full health check and abdominal xrays would be recommended to rule out any partial obstruction or sooner if there is any weight loss

My Rhodesian Ridgeback has a lump that's has come up at the top of her ridge she doesn't whine like it hurts her she has been sleeping more then usually but we also just lost our boy dog that she was with everyday for 8 years so she also seems depressed she doesn't handle riding in vehicles well at all and it's hard to get her to a vet could depression maybe cause this

First of all, I'm so sorry for your loss. Saying goodbye to a friend is never easy, so I can understand Kalie's current depression. However, this type of loss and associated grief process won't cause a physical lump to occur. It's also difficult to determine if she's sleeping a bit more because of the lump or because of the loss of her buddy. Given the prominence of the lump, conditions like an abscess (infection), granuloma, or benign or malignant skin masses must be considered. Unfortunately, there really isn't a way to differentiate between these conditions at home. Since it's difficult to get her in the car, perhaps you could find a mobile vet in your area who is able to come to your home to examine Kalie. They'll need to start with a full physical exam, and will likely perform a fine needle aspirate on the lump. This is a simple procedure where a needle is inserted into the lump to try to remove either fluid and/or cells for microscopic examination. Once the type of lump is determined, your vet will be able to advise you as to whether or not she needs something as simple as a course of antibiotics or even surgery. My puppy is on nextgard but I it looks like there are 2 imbedded ticks on his stomach. Since nextgard works after the tick draws blood, am I just supposed to just wait for them to die?

The photo is a bit blurry so it's hard to tell if that is a tick or just may be a nipple or small mole on the belly. If it is a tick, it should kill any ticks that hop onto the body within 48 hours, however, it should be preventing/killing ticks faster than that if you gave it more than two days ago. If you notice the medication is not helping with severe tick infestations, speaking with your vet about switching to a different product may be beneficial.
