I have a month pregnant guinea pig that is full term over 63 days and has pelvic bone separation of between 2 and 3.5 inches for about 4 days now..she open and closes but when relaxed is separated at about 3 fingers width.she has no symptoms of toxic sow or dystocia..she's vary bright eyed and otherwise normal,but I'm worried. Is it normal that she has not delivered yet despite full separation

Poor Marley! Unfortunately there are a number of possible reasons for these raised nodules and a picture cannot diagnose the underlying cause. Itis not possible to distinguish between a wound from a bug bite, cyst, benign histiocytoma or even a tumour without a physical exam and possible testing by an aspirate taken by a needle during the exam or even removal and biopsy. I recommend you follow up with your regular vet, especially if it increases in size, is painful or persists.

Check out this article on it: https://humanepro.org/magazine/articles/deconstructing-spayneuter-debate Not spaying her can cause a pseudopregnancy reoccurrence, but it doesn't increase her risk of mammary tumors. That's already going to be 25% because she's had more than two heats. Keep in mind, 50% of mammary tumors in dogs are malignant. She is eight years old, so she is already at a higher risk of developing cancer simply because she is an older dog. She is also at risk of a pyometra, which is an infection of the uterus that is fatal without treatment. The treatment for a pyometra is spaying the dog, which is an emergency during a pyometra and can cost many thousands of dollars. In all honesty, it's best to spay her. It will keep her from developing a pyometra as well as a pseudopregnancy, and it will keep her from getting pregnant if she accidentally mates. Dogs over the age of six should never have puppies. In my opinion, it's best for her to health to get spayed asap. I hope this helps!

Hello, thank you for using Boop by Petco. I'm sorry that Mango is having this issue. Yes, many different metals can cause toxicity in birds if ingested but the main ones of concern are lead and zinc. You will need to take Mango to an avian vet when they are open. The metal snap will need to be removed even if it is made of a non harmless metal like stainless steel. I suggest you go to a speciality center as they are more likely to have an endoscope which will be better than doing an open surgery for removal. Sometimes, depending on where the metal piece is located in the GI tract and the size of the snap, they can try removal via bulking agents fed orally instead of doing any invasive procedures. My dog ate a chocolate bar containing raisins, we just took him to the vet and he threw up close to 20 raisins. He consumed this sometimes in the middle of the night, no idea how long they were in his system but the vet said it seems like he threw everything up. We will go back for bloodwork tomorrow, but is toxicity or kidney failure still likely or possible after vomitting?

It would be hard to tell as every dog will react differently to the ingestion of grape/raisins and chocolate, and it toxicity can also depend on how quickly/slowly any of it was digested. Some dogs may be able to better handle a higher dosage, while others may react strongly to a smaller amount. It's best that you have the bloodwork scheduled, as that will give you the best picture of what is going on for Iggy specifically. I'd also recommend a follow-up blood panel in a month or two, as some dogs have shown delayed responses to ingestion of toxic foods before. Signs to watch out for of something being wrong include lethargy, vomiting, a painful or hunched abdomen, drinking/urinating more, and just general malaise. These are all signs that you should seek more immediate treatment if needed.

Hi! My 8yo pure Aussie bulldog has come up with these patches on her paws, above her eye, cheek and also she has been limping due to a old hip injury where she needed 2 screws and a small plate- 1 of these screws has gone through the bone to the other side and it’s causing a weeping growth on the inside of her hip underneath her. Hello, thank you for using Boop by Petco. I'm sorry to hear that Sassy is having this issue. This looks very serious. When there are metal implants involved you must take her to a vet. The implant needs to be removed (if possible) or the entire bone can become infected (osteomyelitis) causing severe issues that can be life threatening. At the very least she needs antibiotic and anti-inflammatory medications which cannot be purchased over the counter. This is serious and is not something you can treat at home. I do not know where in Australia you are located but I suggest you contact this organization that helps people with veterinary medical bills. My young female started her heat about 22 days ago, she was flagging about 9 days ago. By this past weekend, the males were eating again and her vulva was shrinking back down, no more discharge and no more flagging. She was even starting to snap at them. Yesterday my husband was supposed to be watching the dogs and left them to use the restroom, he came out and my older intact male was tied with her briefly. What are the chances of pregnancy? This was the ONLY tie that occurred.

Thank you for contacting Boop by Petco with your question. There is a chance of pregnancy, but the best time for a dog is get is pregnant is between day 9-11 of their cycle. Given it's been 22 days, it makes it less likely, but there is still a chance. I'd wait 30 days, then take her into the vet to get blood drawn to check for the hormone relaxin, which occurs when a dog is pregnant. I hope this helps.
