What happens if I don't breed my female dog when she's in heat ?

Hello, she returns to not being in heat until her next heat. Dogs do not need to be bred at every heat period. Hormonally, her estrus will drop and her progesterone will remain high for several months. During this time she cannot be bred until her next heat cycle. Hopes this helps.

Like the German shepherd do lunge..... Anf lunging on people while on walk similarly do other guard breed like doberman and rottweiler or great dane do they also lunge on people while on walk ? Because my dlg dont lunge on everyone he lunge or some certain people like someone come running out of the house when he was passing or he lunge to those who stop walking or slow down while looking at him on passing

Some dogs may lunge out of fear, some out of aggression, and some from excitement. Without being with your dog it is hard for us to say which he is experiencing. I would recommend finding a dog trainer in your area (I would recommend asking your vet for recommendations) to do some obedience training with him and they may be able to identify why he is lunging and how to fix the issue. If he is actually trying to bite people then he should see a veterinary behaviorist.

I found a puppy at the gas station and id like to try and find out his age and breed , also what steps i need to take to make sure hes healthy

While it is difficult to say definitively what Leo may be, he sure is cute. He may be a mix of dachshund & chihuahua, or might even have a little corgi in him. Have him examined by a veterinarian as soon as possible. He can tell you hold old Leo is, check his stool for parasites, & start him on age appropriate vaccinations. Thank you for rescuing this cute little guy, & thank you for using Boop by Petco.

I am very interested to raise 10 different breeds of cats. Now I have a Persian kitten. Is it good to raise 10 cats together. What are all the other cat breeds I can raise? Tips for raising 10 cats.

I would not recommend raising 10 cats in one household. Here are a few reasons why: -not all cats will automatically get along together. Is your house big enough to completely separate cats that don't get along? -you will need at least 10 litter boxes. Do you have enough separate spaces so each cat can have privacy when using the box? Do you have time to scoop all 10 boxes 1-2 times per day? -you will need to have several different feeding areas for the cats. I prefer that each cat eat out of its own bowl so that you will know if one cat is ill and not eating as much as normal. -spaying and neutering 10 cats to avoid litters of unwanted kittens can get very expensive. Additional expenses include annual veterinary exams, necessary vaccinations and virus testing, veterinary care for emergencies, veterinary care for routine illness, veterinary care for senior cats or cats with long-term health issues -Some cities will have restrictions on the number of animals living in 1 house. You may have to register as a cattery and even pass inspections to be able to have 10 cats. There are lots of different cat breeds, and getting a purebred cat rather than a Domestic Longhair or Domestic Shorthair (common cat breeds) can be extremely expensive.

I am waiting to breed my Cane Corso and this morning had a progesterone test done. I was told the number was 30.6. Does that mean she's ready to breed?

Progesterone results can be expressed in ng/ml or nmol/L, so it's important to know how Ellie's number was expressed. I can say that typically ovulation occurs at a progesterone level of 5mg/ml, but there is no ideal level of progesterone. Peak fertility can occur at 10, 30, or even higher levels depending on the dog. If Ellie is willing, I would try to breed her today. I hope this helps!

Can you tell what type of breed is my dog. They say she was a shih tzu but her hair never grows. she is about 10 months old.

Hi, thanks for using Boop by Petco! Chichay is adorable! She doesn't look like a shih tzu to me at all. She looks to be a long haired chihuahua. Sadly there will never be a way to know 100%, but she is super cute! I hope this helps and I wish you and Chichay the best!

Hi so I'm currently looking to open a cat cafe, and I'm just wondering if you could give me some advice in terms of breeds that would be okay together. Im looking to get seven cats in total all as kittens: main coon, rag doll, British shorthair, Bengal, sphynx and Persian. Would these breeds be okay together or not? many thanks

I love that you want to open a cat cafe! Yes, these breeds will be fine together, but I would recommend introducing them slowly to each other. That will help them get along well with each other, and live in the same place comfortably. Good luck with your cafe!

I'm getting Some pedigree kittens, one Siamese, one Sphinx, one Bengal and one Maine coon, I want to make sure they have the correct and the best diet. I know some expensive brands sell complete cat food for individual breeds, is this worthwhile or simply a waste of money? Would they benefit from a premium complete cat food regardless of breed? What brands would you recommend? I'd like to keep them on dry food. Thank you in advance

Congrats on your new kitties! Given that you have a variety of cats, I would get a high quality cat food as opposed to brands for specific breeds. While I do feel that foods for breeds are worthwhile, it's hard to make sure each cat eats their brand specific food when you have a variety of cats. I feel the food for brands are worthwhile because I do find they tailor to the breed's specific need. Royal Canin Persian, for example, have a specially shaped kibble that makes it easier for Persian cats to pick up with their mouth. Persian cats can have a different shaped mouth due to the shortened nasal passages, and I have found my own Persian had trouble picking up cat food. The Royal Canin Persian was very easy for my cat to eat, and I feed him that. In terms of brands, I recommend Royal Canin kitten food. Other good brands include Hill's Science diet, Purina ProPlan, and Iams.

I think my great Pyrenees puppy is underweight for his age. He is 5 months old and 47lbs. Is that normal for the breed?

Mack seems right on track for his weight and breed. If you are concerned about his body condition score I would be happy to look at a picture and help you decide if it is too low. You can also try adding healthy lean proteins to his puppy food to help with growth. This would include boiled chicken breast and extra lean ground beef.
