You may be feeling his internal organs. This can be normal, especially if he isn't too chubby yet. Have him examined by your veterinarian or an experienced herp vet to make sure it isn't anything to be concerned about.

Check out this article on it: https://humanepro.org/magazine/articles/deconstructing-spayneuter-debate Not spaying her can cause a pseudopregnancy reoccurrence, but it doesn't increase her risk of mammary tumors. That's already going to be 25% because she's had more than two heats. Keep in mind, 50% of mammary tumors in dogs are malignant. She is eight years old, so she is already at a higher risk of developing cancer simply because she is an older dog. She is also at risk of a pyometra, which is an infection of the uterus that is fatal without treatment. The treatment for a pyometra is spaying the dog, which is an emergency during a pyometra and can cost many thousands of dollars. In all honesty, it's best to spay her. It will keep her from developing a pyometra as well as a pseudopregnancy, and it will keep her from getting pregnant if she accidentally mates. Dogs over the age of six should never have puppies. In my opinion, it's best for her to health to get spayed asap. I hope this helps!

According to studies done by Zoetis who make Simparica, "In the overdose groups, transient and self-limiting neurological signs were observed in some animals: mild tremors at 3 times the maximum exposure dose and convulsions at 5 times the maximum exposure dose. All dogs recovered without treatment." You don't need to do anything. I hope this helps!

Are these just hairballs my cat is daily throwing up, or is he ingesting something like yarn? He's bad to chew and swallow strange stuff, but we can't find what the source of these might be. You can see that his stomach contents have to come up when these gobs are in there, so he's not getting enough nutrition. One of the pellets shown is pretty solid, and the other is squishy. What to do?

It is ot possible to identify the source from the photo but your vet may be able to examine to confirm if it is indeed cat hair or synthetic yarn. I would recommend feeding a diet formulated for hair ball reduction for 3-4weeks. A full health check and abdominal xrays would be recommended to rule out any partial obstruction or sooner if there is any weight loss

My puppy is on nextgard but I it looks like there are 2 imbedded ticks on his stomach. Since nextgard works after the tick draws blood, am I just supposed to just wait for them to die?

The photo is a bit blurry so it's hard to tell if that is a tick or just may be a nipple or small mole on the belly. If it is a tick, it should kill any ticks that hop onto the body within 48 hours, however, it should be preventing/killing ticks faster than that if you gave it more than two days ago. If you notice the medication is not helping with severe tick infestations, speaking with your vet about switching to a different product may be beneficial.

My dog ate a chocolate bar containing raisins, we just took him to the vet and he threw up close to 20 raisins. He consumed this sometimes in the middle of the night, no idea how long they were in his system but the vet said it seems like he threw everything up. We will go back for bloodwork tomorrow, but is toxicity or kidney failure still likely or possible after vomitting?

It would be hard to tell as every dog will react differently to the ingestion of grape/raisins and chocolate, and it toxicity can also depend on how quickly/slowly any of it was digested. Some dogs may be able to better handle a higher dosage, while others may react strongly to a smaller amount. It's best that you have the bloodwork scheduled, as that will give you the best picture of what is going on for Iggy specifically. I'd also recommend a follow-up blood panel in a month or two, as some dogs have shown delayed responses to ingestion of toxic foods before. Signs to watch out for of something being wrong include lethargy, vomiting, a painful or hunched abdomen, drinking/urinating more, and just general malaise. These are all signs that you should seek more immediate treatment if needed.

Hello, I had a mold problem in the apartment for the last 5 years on winters. I did clean the mold every time it shows and ventilate the room. I wonder if it can has any effect on my cat? Hello, thank you for using Boop by Petco. Mold can cause respiratory issues in cats long term however it is difficult to tell if it is effecting them until they start showing clinical signs. Depending on age and health condition, the signs could range from mild to severe. Some signs that cats may exhibit are as follows: Runny nose Itchy and runny eyes Skin infections Persistent scratching Coughs and wheezing sounds Nose/mouth bleeding Continuous mold exposure can cause seizures and tremors. Cats in particular will become agitated or anxious due to allergies. Both dogs and cats that have been exposed to mold are also known to shake their ears and heads. Some may also chew their paws, have chronic ear infections, foul odor of the skin and hair loss are other signs that may emerge after mold exposure. You may want to consider getting some HEPA filters in your home to help minimize exposure to both you and your cat.
